Brent Poverty Commission report - embargoed until 12.00 noon Monday 17 August

We were so pleased that Advice4Renters was represented on Brent’s Poverty Commission which was set up by the lead councillor for Housing and Welfare Reform, Councillor Eleanor Southwood and chaired by independent cross-bench Peer, Lord Richard Best.

This gave us a chance to work with Crisis Brent, Shelter and others to develop proposals to tackle the root causes of poverty in Brent, most notably, the huge gap between what people earn and what they have to pay for their housing, particularly for those in the private rented sector.
